The forehand can be struck in many different fashions–and this is very useful when hitting an approach shot. In today’s lesson, Brady demonstrates 4 different ways to attack the net on the forehand side.

    This is excellent Brady. I’ve never seen a coach offer advice on playing some of these shots, especially the last two that are so ‘real world’ – great stuff. Will need to practise these, but can def see their uses.

    I use a semi western grip from base line
    when you hit approach shot and not knowing in advance the height of ball coming at me…what grip do I use ?
    I usually switch to continental as soon as I start coming in

    Really liked your summary of the different balls – in terms of their height and then how to adjust. Sometimes I have used the “buggy whip” for both balls 2 and 3 in our reference, depending upon what I am seeing from my opponent and their return game.
